Blade C7000 Teaming. 12 blade / vmware. 3 switchs 3020. How to ?

Hi,

We have a C7000 with 12 blade BL460C and 3 switchs on the C7000.

Today we don't have teaming with vmware / ESX / C7000.

We would like to have 2 network link on our C7000, today we have only one link.

How to configure that ? Is the PDF documents regarding that ?

You have 3 switches but "1 link"... are two switches connected to to one and then a link going out of that one?

Hi Laurent

From discussion with out cisco gurus here at work you can not team multiple nics across different switches for increased bandwidth.

As far as I am aware you may only team multiple nics together on the same switch for increase bandwidth.

However if you wish to team only for fault tolerance you may do this across multiple switches (no bandwidth increase)

Hello,
You can increase TX Bandwidth teaming NICs connected to different switches, but not RX. The only way will be stacking switches (Only with Cisco 3120). Regarding the configuration, the best way will be a channel group(LACP) from your Blade switches to your upstream switch carrying traffic from all VLANs (Service Console, Vmotion, VMs), regarding the 2 Links, I├В┬┤m not sure what you mean, if you create 2 differente pipes from the enclosure to the Upstream switch, carrying the same traffic, 1 pipe will be disabled or blocking cause it will create a loop.

Ok, thank you.

I think the best solution is to create
Team with multiple NIC / servers.

I have to continue my investigation.

Regards.
