booting to dvd on blade c3000

i can't get the server to boot from dvd/cd - the cd is the first item in the boot order.

Are you trying to se the ILO virtual media or the DVD drive embedded on the C3000 enclosure?
In the second case you have to configure the DVD drive to be connected to one or several blade servers. You can do that through Onboard Administrator or Insight Display.

If you are trying to boot from c3000 enclosure DVD , first of all you need to connect the server to the DVD.
You can do it from the OA GUI page or from OA telnet session.
From telnet session you can run the following command.

# set server dvd connect .

Restart the server and it will boot from enclosure DVD.( Obviously boot order should be correct )
