Re: C7000 / Blades /ILO

There is a document about best practices (google will find).

DL latest FW update DVD (9.10C) it will update everything in blades automatically, OA and interconnect FWs need to be updated separately.

Re: C7000 / Blades /ILO

OA will show something and SIM if You have HP agents running on the servers.

Re: C7000 / Blades /ILO

Log in to the Onboard Administrator and click on "Rack Firmware" (on Left (Top))

Note the firmware for Blade components (CPU's, HBA's, etc.) require you to connect to the individual blade ILo's.

Re: C7000 / Blades /ILO

Can't see the link on top left but have gathered below info so far.

Would it be safe to jump to latet firmware version or move up systematically

OA Current Firmware Version: 1.30
ILO Current Firmware Version: 1.22
Blades: ProLiant BL460c G1

Re: C7000 / Blades /ILO

Well those are _really_ old =) But If You do not have virtual connect, it does not really matter in which order to update.

I would start with the FW DVD and update blades first, then OA.

Re: C7000 / Blades /ILO

Thanks, i am updating blades at present.

How do i know if i do not have Virtual connect?

I am running HP SUM on each machine individually. Does this install the updated ILO also for each machine or do i need to run an overall ILO update within the OA to cover all blades at once?

Thanks for your assistance so far.

Re: C7000 / Blades /ILO

In the OA, on the left hand side navigation panel. If VC is installed, then the last item in the list will be "Virtual Connect Manager"

Re: C7000 / Blades /ILO

If you boot server from that DVD, it will update everything (even ILO) automatically. But online (hpsum) will do it also.
