c7000 firmware updating with no OS
Hi,
We have a new c7000 enclosure with 6 BL680c, 2 VC-Enet modules and 1 Flex-10. I'm trying to figure out how to update all firmware without an OS or CD/DVD drive installed.
I have connectivity to the OA and all ilo's.
I also have a .zip called bbfirmware-1.41-0.zip but that conains an ISO image (and I know what that is).
Can't i do this via the OA? And could someone point me to those files?
Thanks.
C.

Re: c7000 firmware updating with no OS
I hope by this time you already configured your c7000 chassis.
From my experience, OA version 2.25 is just fine. ILO f/w must be 1.70 that fixes the "won't reboot issue" failure.
As much as possible, avoid 2.41 (lots of problem).
Or you could use the latest OA firmware, 2.51. Make sure all your ILO are minimum of 1.77.
Attached file is c7000 How to...
Any questions, email me ... jfamper@msn.com
Good luck.
Regards,
John
