CFM ..... Airflow, Cooling in Servers

Hi All,
Can anyone share the CFM value of HP p-Class Blades, any document or link.

It depends on the blades used in the Enclosure. By C-Class the cooling is on the back of the enclosure. The P-class blades have the cooling subsystem in the bladeservers themselves.

Hi,

By CFM, I assume you mean Cubic Feet per Minute.

I doubt such a figure exists. The amount of air that a blade will move, will depend on a large number of factors, because the fans don't run at a fixed speed.

If the ambient temperature is high, then the fans in the blade will speed up to try and compensate. The workload on the server will also increase the temperature of the CPUs which again will cause more air to be pulled through...

It would be a multi-variable equation...ambient input temperature, number of blades, heat production of the blades...
