Change iLO IP Address after moving blade to different chassis

I had a blade in one c7000 chassis and the iLO was configured with a static IP address. I then moved the blade to another Chassis (on another IP Subnet)

Unsurprisingly, I can't access the iLO on this blade ('cause the IP address is wrong for the new subnet)

However, I can't see how to change the iLO's IP address remotely. I've tried using EBIPA (both through the web interface, and via Telnet) and neither of these appear to work.

SHOW EBIPA gives:

HQ-HBC2> show ebipa

EBIPA Settings - Device Bay iLO Processors

Domain: hq.ccw.gov.uk

Subnet Mask: 255.255.254.0 Gateway: 172.16.2.1
DNS Server1: 172.16.2.4 Server2: 192.168.24.66
Server3: 0.0.0.0

Bay Enabled EBIPA Address Current Address Device Type
--- ------- --------------- --------------- ------------
1 No 172.16.3.78 Server Blade
2 No 172.16.3.79 Server Blade
3 No 172.16.3.80 Server Blade
4 No 172.16.3.1 Server Blade
5 Yes 172.16.3.249 192.168.1.61 Server Blade

(172.16.3.249 is the address I want the iLO to have. 192.168.1.61 is the address it had)

Is there any other way of reseting the iLO Network Settings, without me having to get off my bum... ;-)

Re: Change iLO IP Address after moving blade to different chassis

Hi,

since you don't heave access to the ilo direct and through OA and since it is set to use static adress I don't think you can do that remotely..If it was set to obtain IP from DHCP, it would acquire IP from EBIPA and you can use it, but now this is not possible...

You can do that only local - dongle in front of the Blade - F8 in ilo bios und dort either static IP eingeben or set it to DHCP , then EBIPA should work.

If you have access to the Windows install, you can change the ILO networking info from the command line using the hponcfg.exe tool. It gets installed by default with smartstart. Browse to c:\program files\hp\hponcfg\ and run hponcfg.exe /f and specify the location of the XML file that has your updated network config. You can find XML scripting examples for this tool on HP's site:
