Clarification about DAC cables

Steve was looking to clarify what DAC cable "unsupported" really means for Pass-Thru Modules(PTM).

The 10Gb PTM has no problem accepting a DAC cable from Cisco or anyone else. The PTM was tested with popular cables from Cisco, HP, ProCurve and BNT before it was released.

DACs cables are of various qualities so vendors try to lock you into their own design/approved cables. Your customer should understand that the Cisco message does not mean it will not work. Only that Cisco will not guarantee the quality of the cable being used. Which is also true for HP approved cables.
