Connect MSA1500CS to blades

Hi!

I have:
- msa 1500cs with active/active firmware (6.86b1) and msa30/msa20 encl's.
- hp blade servers (c7000)
- hp 4gb vc-fc module
- proliant bl640c-g1

I want to connect MSA with blades directly (without any fc switches). Can I do it and how I can do it? After connect my MSA1500 prints "Negotiated Two Gig" every 10-15 sec. In VirtualConnect I associate profile "SAN_3" with my blade, but is nothing to happen.

Please, help!

I have "Not logged in" link status on fibre channel port connection. On my MSA1500CS i have "F_Port Topology" connection.

What's wrong? What I can do with this link status?

You need NPIV support for the SAN ports You attach the VC module. I am not sure if there is one in MSA1500

So, I want to use FC switch with N_Port (NPIV) support?

Yes All you have to do is to connect the VC-SAN ports to SAN switch with NPIV support.
