We used to specify the name in the BIOS "Server Text" field but now it shows up as MININT JVC (from RDP). If we empty this field it just displays the model of the blade - ProLiant BL465c G1.
OA firmware - 2.01
iLo2 firmware - 1.35
O/S - ESX 3.0
The server text field used to work, something changed.

Re: Device Bay name incorrect in Onboard Administrator
You already have the updated firmware.
Will research more on this.

James.

Re: Device Bay name incorrect in Onboard Administrator
Select "Server Asset Text" hit enter
Select "Server Info Text" hit enter
Select "Server Name" Line #1 or Line #2. Each line can contain a maximum of 14 characters.
Enter the server blade name.

Re: Device Bay name incorrect in Onboard Administrator
That has already been done !
Any new ideas ? I didnt find anything yet !
Odd... as the OA firmware 2.01 should have rectified the same.
Melissa, how many OA do you have in the same enclosure ?
James.

Re: Device Bay name incorrect in Onboard Administrator
Try reseting the iLO if you have iLO access for the same server.
that should fix the problem.

Re: Device Bay name incorrect in Onboard Administrator
I can try resetting the iLo - how do you recommend doing this? I know it can be done through DIP switches on the blade but i'm sure there's another less drastic way I don't know of. :)

Re: Device Bay name incorrect in Onboard Administrator
OK so now my question. How exactly is that bios asset tag entry tied to iLo2?

Re: Device Bay name incorrect in Onboard Administrator
This may be due to improper communication between ILO and OA.
When the iLO is reset it will start communicating with OA.
don't forget to assign points.
