Does a PCIc v1 card in a PCIe v2 slot slow the entire bus down to v1 speed?
Steve had a PCIe bus question:
**********************
Not really a blade question but sure someone out there knows the answer.....
If customer plugs a PCIe v1.x card into a PCIe v2 bus, does the whole bus slow down to v1 speed, so any v2 cards plugged in will also run at v1 speed? Customer tells me this is his understanding - anyone confirm or correct this?
(I don't have the time (or inclination!) to read through the PCIe specs to find out - even if I could understand it!). Hopefully someone out there just knows the answer?

And there Mark is with the answer:
***************************
A PCIe card slots into its own bus, unlike PCI-x which could share a bus between slots.
So each card has its own bus , thus other cards will be unaffected.
