Hi,
Does anyone know the earliest c7000 OA firmware version that will recognise and power up a BL460c G6..?
I need to add some BL460c G6's to a c7000 which is running very much out of date OA firmware (2.41)... I cannot upgrade the OA firmware to the latest (3.00) as the existing BL460 G1 blades (which are in production and cannot be taken offline yet) also need their iLo & System BIOS firmware upgrading BEFORE they can work with OA 3.00...
I cannot find any reference in the OA firmware revision history to the BL460c G6's - only the BL460c G5's which were supported from OA 2.32...
I haven't tried installing a BL460c G6 into the c7000 yet... Any ideas if this might effect the production BL460c G1's in anyway..? I am thinking that the OA will just refuse to power the BL460c G6's up...
Anyone have experience of this???
Cheers
Martin

Solution
Hi Martin,
Check this site:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/blades/components/c-class.html
then select the "Previous Firmware Versions" tab.
If you want to use G6 blades in this enclosure you need to go to fw rev 2.51 first. Here is a link to that revision:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?swItem=MTX-9b6b6bd81323496580a9ba3819&taskId=135&swLang=8тМй=en&cc=us&mode=3&
The first link will also show the minimum required firmware revisions for the blade ROMs and iLOs if you choose to upgrade to 2.51.
If you choose not to upgrade it is most likely that any G6 blades you install will show a critical fault and fail to power on.
good luck, if you appreciate the answers we appreciate the points!
