I have a bunch of blades that needs the power management controller update, and for now there is no easy way to do that on ESX as far as i can see.
I am counting on the the FDT 1.60 to solve that, and according to http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/blades/components/c-class.html?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN -> Downloads it should have been released in july.
When can we expect to have v1.60?

Re: Firmware Deployment Tool 1.60 - scheduled for july?
Now 1.60 is here, and according to other posts it solves the power management update.
My problem is that the ISO boots from virtual media, but after "Loading initrd.gz......ok" nothing happens, I just get a black display in iLO.
Also tried a locally attached monitor, same result.
Server is BL495c G5.

Solution
Hi Ole,
I've also seen this issue on some 460c G5's.
My solution was to use the normal Firmware CD/ISO, and just put the the additional SCEXE on there.
It should be put on the \compaq\swpackages directory on the CD/ISO
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib2/software1/sc-linux-fw/p874237925/v55050/CP011299.scexe
It will automatically be included on the firmware scan.
I've used FWCD 8.50. It might be included on the 8.60 just released.
Regards,

Re: Firmware Deployment Tool 1.60 - scheduled for july?
Thanks Niels,
the 011299 is included in the 8.60 ISO, but it does not get installed or even listed as appropriate on the BL495c servers I have tested.
The FDT 1.60 does install this firmware, but it has a problem with servers having 64GB memory or more.
