Firmware upgrade HP GBE2c Ethernet Switch

Hello

The update tool supplied with the 1.1 firmware update refuses to work. Will not see the switch.

The only other way i have seen to update the firmware is via a serial connection. Re-booting the switch and holding shift D during boot up. This is described in the switch user guide. Is this the only way to do the firmware upgrade ?

I do not see an option from a telnet to the switch to update the firmware via TFTP.

Please confirm.

1.1 and 2.0 same files, (except few for update), can you run discovery and see any other switches ? settings

HP says that you first have to update to 1.1 and then to ver 2.0

Ive run a discover and it will not see the switch. I can telnet to the switch no problem. Is there a setting on the switch that must be enabled for the installation software to see it ?

I used the serial connection and the method described in the user manual to update the firmware.

It worked perfectly.
