how to configure brocade 4/12 to accept new SAN

here is my current config.

c3000 chassis with 5 x BL460c blades, 2 x brocade 4/12 SAN switches, 2 x Ethernet VC modules, Vritual Connect Manager with existing EVA 4400 connected on ports 17 & 18 of both SAN switches.

i wish to connect new MSA2012fc to the brocade 4/12 SAN switches on ports 19 & 20.

Can this be done and what is required?

when is connect Fc to thse ports the swtiches indicate: segmented, trunked etc with no sync

Re: how to configure brocade 4/12 to accept new SAN

Have a look at this doc, scenario 4
bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01702940/c01702940.pdf

From memory a VC-FC does not switch. So unless your 2012fc is going to connect to one blade only then the 2012fc must connect to a switch and the VC-FC connect to the switch.
What switches do you have for the EVA4400?

Re: how to configure brocade 4/12 to accept new SAN

the in-chassis san switches are brocade 4/12 BUT i also have an external Brocade 200e.

i just thought (obviously incorrectly) that i could connect the 2012fc to the spare ports on the in-chassis brocades and way i go.

Re: how to configure brocade 4/12 to accept new SAN

found the solution = incompatible Gbics in the 4/12 San switches = what an idiot!
