How to determine which C7000 power supply is bad
Raymond had a customer question:
***********
To all,
We have a customer where a power supply needs to be replaced and the local team does not want to touch it without some indication as to which power supply needs to be replaced. Is there a way to remotely power off a power supply?
I do not believe that there is a UID for the power supplies.

Reply from Sam:

The insight display on the front of the C7000 will clearly show which power supply position has failed. Since the Power supplies are front loaded no need to touch the power cords in the back unless you want to make sure the failed power supply simply came unplugged. Note the display below showing two bad or missing power supplies.

Re: How to determine which C7000 power supply is bad
Additional comment from John:
*******
An OA showall will show power cord status (although it might be for newer PSU’s and/or OA version), if it shows as failed there’s a good chance it’s been disconnected or the supply has failed. If the PSU itself has an actual failure the power cord will show as OK:
Product Name: HP 2400W HE PSU
Part Number: 499253-B21
Spare Part Number: 500242-001
Product Ver: 01
Diagnostic Status:
Device Failure Failed
Power Cord Failed
