HP Enclosure C7000 SNMP Integration

Hi,

I need to configure the HP Enclosure C7000 to send H/W SNMP traps to the Centralized Network Managment System, anybody knows how this can be done? also it'd be highly appreciated if you please could provide the MIB files and the Alarm descriptions.

thanks for that, but I need to know whitch MIB version should I use, also in the download column this O/S refers to the Managment Server?
the managment Server should be running HP SIM?

Yes ..but all the mibs are in that package.

I think majority of the traps are in cpqrack.mib

Is your CMS SIM?
If it is - dont worry you have the MIBs. Best to upgrade to SIM 5.3 anyway

we don't have HP SIM installed in the SNMP Manager, this is not in our control.

what should I do?

I understood the following:

1- Load the MIB in the SNMP manager
2- Confogure OA to send SNMP traps to that Manager

is any thing else need to be done? i.e. hp blades as SNMP Agent.

You want the SNMP configured as mentioned above in the OA.
You also want to configure the iLO SNMP settings to send traps as well. See the management page in the iLO interface.
And configure the SNMP agent on the OS of the servers.

also what should i do to enable this SNMP Agent? as you know by defualt SNMP is not enabled in Redhat Linux.

need your response please regarding the SNMP Manaager query above?

If you dont know the iLO administration interface then go back and look at the iLO links in the OA ... as you wont get much further without knowing how to access it.
Its pretty obvious what to configure once you access the page. Look thru the pages.

Configuring the SNMP agent in Linux is probably a question for the Linux Forums.

The other MIB questions for SNMP might be best asked in the Systems Insight Manager forum.

I am tyring to identify which MIBs among all the many C-7000 MIBs are actually needed for SNMP Traps?

Does anyone have a narrowed-down list of just Trap MIBs for C-7000?
