We have c7000 with 2 Flex-10 connected to Cisco 3750 using RJ-45 .
we have a 2 x 455883-B21 (10Gb SR SFP+) for Flex-10 but no 10gb SFP+ for Nexus 5020 . wanted to connect it to usual SFP on Nexus 5020 (first 16 port support 1gb/10gb) .
can 455883-B21 work in 1gb mode with Nexus 5020 SFP (not SFP+) . same problem was with connecting to Cisco 3750 using SFP .
no FCoE , only ethernet
thanks !

Solution
To add to the previous response.
You need the 453154-B21 HP BLC 1Gb RJ45 SFP Option Kit (one for each uplink port)
This will allow 1Gb uplinks. I assume from your post that the NEXUS 5020 is OK operating at 1Gb so it should be OK.
Dave.
