Information about HP's blade systems?
Because I clearly have a problem, I just picked up a c7000 with all its fans, all PSUs, some interconnect modules (I guess), admin modules (maybe?) and 6 blades (G6 BL460c so they'll probably be getting binned). And now I have questions (and yes, I know it's incredibly noisy and wil quadruple my power bill and is just generally ridiculous for anyone not running a data center.....but it was £100 for the lot)
I currently have a SAS JBOD hooked up to a dl360 for a file share, can I connect that to the blades somehow? I see there's a SAS switch module (couple of different types actually) available, is that what I need?
Is there a list anywhere of modules that can go in the c7000? The BL460c seems to be the most common compute module, bit I think there's full height ones as well? And what's the deal with the graphics expansion module, does that take mxm format GPUs? I've seen PCI expansion blades as well I think? Adding standard pcie cards is something I would be interested in)
I have a 10gb rack switch and was going to stuff 10gb cards in my current rack servers, what do I need to get my blades on a 10gb network?

Re: Information about HP's blade systems?
Hello,
You may review the HPE Direct-Connect External SAS Storage for HPE BladeSystem Solutions Deployment Guide for information about SAS storage connectivity.
For a list of HPE ProLiant BL Server Blades that can be installed in C700 enlosure, please click here. In that list starting from section "HPE ProLiant BL460c Server Blade", all those servers are supported.
You may use HPE BladeSystem PCI Expansion Blade and HPE PCI Expansion Blade - Overview for using PCIe cards.
There are mezzanine cards, type I and type II cards, depending on the server's generation. Please review the quick specs of the respective blade server.
You may also refer to HPE BladeSystem c7000 Enclosures - Product Information Reference for more information about HPE BladeSystem components,
You may refer to HPE Blade system c7000 Enclosure - Option Parts sections HPE BladeSystem c-Class network interconnects, HPE BladeSystem c-Class SAN interconnects, HPE SAS switch, HPE BladeSystem infiniBand interconnects for networking components.
Regards,
I work at HPE
