IP KVM to iLO
We have a pair of C7000s and a new HP 2x1x16 IP KVM. In the documentation for the KVM it says "integrates seamlessly with iLO" but gives no further indication of how this is done. Is there a way we can connect the KVM to the iLO of the blades, or do we need to connect KVM adapters to each blade? It seems there should be a better way than that.....

Re: IP KVM to iLO
Connectivity to the iLO interfaces is generally the method used to get console on blade servers. This is typically done via the Onboard Administrator by assigning IP addresses to the iLO ports for the blades on the EBIPA link.
HP has issued a new Onboard Administrator module with KVM that should allow you to connect to the OA as you would any rackmount server and then connect through this to individual blade consoles. I haven't seen this new OA and can't find a lot of documentation on it but our rep is getting us one to try out in the next week or two.

Re: IP KVM to iLO
Thanks. I wonder what they mean on this KVM page where it talks about "easily switching between KVM and iLO sessions" and "seamless integration with iLO".

Re: IP KVM to iLO
As already mentioned, normally one gets console access on a blade via the iLO remote console. There is a new OA module that does have a KVM port that can be used with the KVM you have. I think the seamless integration statement is confusing.

Basically you can use the KVM client to connect to the KVM over the network, or use your browser to connect to iLO over the network.
