mezzanine type 1 and type 2

Hi,

Can you please let me know the difference between mezzanine type 1 and type 2 cards in terms of features and performance.

Thanks & Regards,
Sagar.

Re: mezzanine type 1 and type 2

Type II is a bit larger and has doubled PCIe speed.

Hope this helps!

Re: mezzanine type 1 and type 2

Type II doesn't necessarily mean more PCIe lanes. On some server blades, the mezzanine slot that could take Type II cards had more PCIe lanes, but that's not true on all blades.

There are actually just two differences:
a. Type II cards can be physically larger (just a bit)
b. Type II cards can draw more power than Type I cards

Type I cards can go into any mezz slot; Type II cards can only go into mezz slots that support Type II cards.

The majority of mezz cards are Type I.

Re: mezzanine type 1 and type 2

I think the spec. is TYPE I = 15 Watts max.
TYPE II = 25 Watts

Re: mezzanine type 1 and type 2

I would like to see an image to see what each type looks like. I have one installed on a BL460c Gen 9 and can't tell if it's Type 1 or Type 2. I could really use some help on this. Thanks.
