no ilo remote console from blade servers
hello all, i'm facing a strange behavior.
2 Interconnected c7000 with 2 flex-10 vc modules each, and bl460c g6 servers.
oa firmware 3.11 and vc firmware 3.10 and ilo2 2.01. OA & vc networks are on the same vlan, and every ilo network is in its own vlan.
upstream switch port is configured in trunk mode.
i can manage my c7000 enclosures outside these vlans, and also i can access every ilo management web page and even more upgrade ilo's firmware. BUT I HANE NO INTEGRATED REMOTE CONSOLE or JAVA BASED REMOTE CONSOLE available.
If i plug my pc directly to the OA port no problem at all.
Any ideas?

Re: no ilo remote console from blade servers
Accessing the iLO management web page and upgrading the iLO firmware both only require HTTPS access (port TCP/443) to the iLO.
But remote console access requires a different TCP port for the console datastream. Perhaps your network contains a firewall that is not configured to allow this? This would explain why there is no problem if you connect directly to the OA.
The console port numbers are customizable through the iLO web interface, so find the actual port numbers from there.
The Virtual Media features may need yet another port, so you might want to include them in your firewall configuration request too.

Check out this thread for the ports you need to open in a firewall
