No Management URL: WS-CBS3020-HPQ

We have c7000 enclosure with 2x WS-CBS3020-HPQ switches.

The problem is that I can only access the Switches via console and telnet. I want to access the Onboard Administrator "View" to see the temperature and total bandwidth utilization etc.

I found that the Management URL point to an invalid address of http://0.0.0.0

How can I enable this Management URL without resetting the entire switch and running Express Setup?

The OA will only show a Management Console for 3020 switches if there is an IP address assigned (via DHCP or static) to FastEthernet0 and if FastEthernet0 is enabled and up.

If you have an IP Address assigned on a VLAN Interface, the OA will not "see" this address and won't publish it as a management console URL.

You should still be able to access the web interface of the switch if you have a reachable IP address assigned to a VLAN interface and ensure that "ip http server" is enabled. It just won't show up in the OA.

Thx, we tried enabling fa0 just for testing, and IOS switched it back off.

So, its either Cisco VLAN1 with an IP or HP Onboard Administrator, not both?

yes, a 3020 switch can't have 2 IP addresses in the same or overlapping subnets... You could have an address on Fa0 and one on VLAN 1 but they would have to be different IP networks (i.e. VLANs)
