Onboard Administrator 3.x and support for 2400W power supplies
Hoa had a customer question:
**************************
Hello all,
With OA 3.00 and beyond I see below. But my customer is using OA 2.60, can’t upgrade what is the implication I should know specific to using 2400W PS with OA 2.60 currently?
New Hardware Support
- HP BLc7000 2400W Platinum Power Supply
- HP Integrity BL890c i2 Server Blade
- HP Integrity BL870c i2 Server Blade
- HP Integrity BL860c i2 Server Blade
****************************
Monty knew the problem and had answers:
*******************************
The OA has power efficiency curves for each power supply type which is used to calculate the enclosure Present Power based on power supply output power and the particular power supply efficiency curve.
OA v2.60 does not have any efficiency curve for the 2400W Platinum Power Supply – so the OA report of enclosure Present Power will be significantly higher than actual because the OA will be using the original 2250W power supply efficiency curve.
