Packet Loss on BL460C G1

Hi,

we are experiencing a strange issue on several BL460C G1. All Systems are running Server 2003 R2 SP2 in German (which shouldn't affect the Problem).
When pinging the System we see stuff like this:

As you can see some pings are OK some seem to just disapear anywhere. Network Team tells me that the Server is acting weired. It receives a paket, ack's it and afterwards requests it again.

The Problem was solved after we upgraded the NC373i NIC to Driver 5.0.13.0 and the bootcode to 4.4.1. But after a few days the Error pops-up again.

Any Ideas what could be responsible for this Issue?

Use autoneg. speed ans disable TOE from NCU.

and You are using autoneg for link speed ? Lates NIC firmwares and drives + NCU installed ?

Re: Packet Loss on BL460C G1

If you had cloned the system you could end up with two systems with the same mac address. This would result in a lot of packet loss.

Re: Packet Loss on BL460C G1

Hi,

we are Running a deployment Solution for Servers so there is no need to clone a System - in other words we never do that.

I can set the NIC to "Auto" or "2.5Gig fixes" Negotiation. Currently we are running on "Auto" as the switches behind the Pass-Thru Module provide up to Gigabit (Network Team confirmed me that we are currently running on 1000/Full).

Re: Packet Loss on BL460C G1

Are You using the _latest_ NIC firmware and server BIOS ? Also what version of the NCU is in use ?

Re: Packet Loss on BL460C G1

Could You check that your network switches are _also_ in autoneg. mode ?
