Port 6: portcfgpersistentenable failed. Configuration is not capable(6).

Last weekend we add a BL460c gen10 blade into bay #6

Portcfgpersistentenable 6 failed and have no idea what we are doing wrong.

License is there, no errors seen in 'errdump'

Same for all other persistentdisabled ports.

However, port 15 for example I can persistentdisable and enable again.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Port 6: portcfgpersistentenable failed. Configuration is not capable(6).

Greetings!

Please check if Active=Saved Mode (ASM) is enabled.

What happens when you try to enable the port using "portEnable" command"?

Pls refer disabling and enabling ports - persistent states Page# 47 https://docs.broadcom.com/docs-and-downloads/dam/fos-810-ficonguide.pdf

If issue persists, please verify if the HBA in the bay#16 blade is installed in the correct slot. You can compare with the other working blades in the same enclosure.

You may also swap a working blade on bay 6 to further isolate.

Re: Port 6: portcfgpersistentenable failed. Configuration is not capable(6).

In case issue persist, please do following

1. On switch CLI run below command:

#diagclearerror -all ----------------->Clears the diagnostics failure status.

2. SSH OA Cli and E-fuse/ reset server blade

    OA1>Reset Server <Bay Number>

3. From the Switch port Run "switchshow" and check the status, also makesure you enable ports persistently.

   # "portcfgpersistentenable <Port Number>"

Hope this helps!
