PSP 8.20 and HPSUM

I am running BL685 G1's and G5's. They have Qlogic QMH2462 4Gb FC HBA.

Using 8.20, hpsum.exe /express_install /use_wmi
The install halts on Qlogic drivers, and will not install unless you uncheck it.

I downloaded cp009496.exe to try and install the miniport driver, windows WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB939315-x64-ENU.exe, and WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB932755-x64-ENU.exe. cp009496.exe came back with a notification: ... "but is for a machine type other than the current machine"

I downloaded a previous version of PSP, and it seems to be working. I have to reload the OS to verify it. I also ran the 8.20 afterwords, and it did not halt.

How do you run an unattended installation of 8.20? are there specific Windows updates that have to be installed first for the Qlogic to be successfull?

Not really helpful to you, but, I've a DL380G5 built with PSP 8.15, and when trying to install cp009496.exe (win2003 R2 SP2 x64) I get the same error. Just logged it with HP support and will let you know if I get an answer.

Re: PSP 8.20 and HPSUM

Can't help with the unattended install I'm afraid, but did find out the following.

The driver you mention (cp009694.exe) is for Itanium systems only, the x64 one is cp008947_91717_x64.zip (if you google it you'll get the link to the download). Regards the Windows updates, there is mention in the release note that:

Driver installation with HP Smart Component requires a minimum Windows Server 2003 SP1/SP2 with KB932755. Apply the Microsoft STORport update (KB932755) before installing or upgrading to this version of the STORport driver. For boot installations, the Windows Server 2003 SP2 install image is required followed by the KB update.

Multiboot images contain the BIOS and EFI drivers for the 4Gb and 8 Gb HBAs.

Only supported on WS2003.

Having installed the Win update and then the driver, it all worked fine. Did also discover that the driver is included in PSP 8.20, but not 8.15 which is what we'd used for the build.

Thanks

Didn't find a solution to this one. Just did 8.15 first, with the windows update, then 8.20 ran OK.
