Recommended physical switches for Nexus 1000v

Hi Folks,

We are planning to deploy VMware vSphere Ent. Plus with a c7000 enclosure and a group of BL460c.

Our main concern is the compatibility between the HP GbE2c Layer 2/3 Switch and the Cisco Nexus 1000v.

So far I've found this:

"The Cisco Nexus 1000V is compatible with any upstream physical access layer switch that is Ethernet standard compliant, including Catalyst 6500 series switches, Cisco Nexus switches, and switches from other network vendors."

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus1000/sw/4_0/compatibility/information/n1000v_compatibility.html

What do you think?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated,

A.

Re: Recommended physical switches for Nexus 1000v

Hi,

We've run the Nexus vswitch on all sorts of equipment in our lab. Just about anything that can support dot1q properly should have no issues.
