Restoring the VC Manager

Hi All -

Has anyone actaully restored a virtual connect module? I am trying to restore one from another VC modules configuration. I know what the manual says and I know that since it is not the same module I need to check the "Ignore enclosure serial number in restored configuration file".

It takes a looong time and then it reports back with "Failed to authenticate session". Of course as usual the documentation makes it sound so simple.

I appreciate any help! Thanks

Re: Restoring the VC Manager

make sure the firmware version where the config file was taken and where it is being restored match.

When you say restoring a VC module, do you mean a VC domain?

You are restoring to a different chassis? Or to the same chassis?

Re: Restoring the VC Manager

Firmware is the same but it is a different enclosure. I did actually mean the domain (sorry about that). Also the Admin passwords are the same.

Re: Restoring the VC Manager

OA Fw must match VC FW or there will be problems... also the VC modules must be in same interconnect bays as they were in original chassis.

Re: Restoring the VC Manager

OK, I know my OA has the most updated version but I havent done anything with my Virtual Connect Modules. Let me give it a shot and see what happens.

Thanks Much!
