Simple question actually
Can i configure two "standalone" enclosures with the same VC domain name ?
And will changes to one enclosure (bv. add vlan in SUS) be propageted to the second enclosure ?
regards,
Geert

Re: Simple question actually
As long as you link the VC modules together. You can have and manage upto 4 enclosures with VCM in the same VC Domain.

Re: Simple question actually
By linking the VC modules together, you mean: stacking between the enclosures ?
I assume:
Enclosure 1 : VC1a ---- VC1b
Enclosure 2 : VC2a ---- VC2b
is not good. Using VCM only in this scenario, am i right to assume Enclosure1 does not talk to Enclosure2 at all ? (i assume this, as how would Enclosure 1 know about Enclosure 2 ?)
Using VCM only, you should do:
VC1a ---- VC1b
| | <--- stack links
VC2a ---- VC2b
Of course, then they talk to each other. I understand this scenario.
However, in the first scenario:
VC1a --- VC1b : VC_Domain_X
VC2a --- VC2b : VC_Domain_X
When i am using VCEM, i can create a VCEM_Group_1 which contains VC_Domain_X and which contains
Enclosure1 and Enclosure2. This seems to work (no reported errors). But is this supported ? And what are the limitations of this scenario ? (ie. config replication for example vlans on SUS ? hardware position of uplinks ? do they need to be in the same position ?, this is very unclear in the HP documentation)
regards,
Geert
