Smartstart; Shiretoko?
I'm trying to reinstall a BL460c server, and get it to boot on the Smartstart 8.40 Cd using the virtual media(mounts the CD/DVD drive on my computer which has the Smartstart CD in it), but...
All I get is a message that 'Shiretoko is free Softare' with 'Read more' and 'X' buttons.
Did someone use SW they shouldn't have when they created the CD? Is HP being taken over by the Free Software Foundation?
Am I really at home, in bed and having hallucinations?

Re: Smartstart; Shiretoko?
Hi!
Strange...
Is this smartstart x32 for a bl460c g1?
Did you get the right smartstart cd?
Googled a little and got some hits for a mediasmart that apparently has Shiretoko somewhere as well..
Shiretoko seems to be a Mozilla product??
Are you doing this via firefox/shiretoko?
Have you tried to do it via IE?

Re: Smartstart; Shiretoko?
hi,
check this :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla_Firefox
section : "Version 3.5"
==> first words :
Version 3.5, codenamed Shiretoko ???
so SmartStartCD is made by linux (before linux it was on MS-DOS, but HP don't anted to pay for the license and of course the linux is free and make HP independent from the MicroSOFT ) and they run the app on the firefox ???
did you tried to run some lover version as an 8.4 ???
mikap

Re: Smartstart; Shiretoko?
This IS a HP SmartStart 8.40 for '64-bit operating systems only' CD.
