Systems Insight Manager not identify blade

I have a C3000 enclosure and am trying to get SIM to recognize it. I have tried doing a manual discovery and identify and it just reports back as unknown for system type.

I have reset the OA with no luck.

Any thoughts ???

Re: Systems Insight Manager not identify blade

What version of sim? And what version does the OA and the ilos have? Please make all of them uptodate and try again.

Re: Systems Insight Manager not identify blade

All ILO2s are running 1.35 and OA is running 2.03.

SIM is version C.05.01.00.02

Thanks

Re: Systems Insight Manager not identify blade

Hello Neil,

You need to check you SNMP settings.
For Communication issues.. you may run Configure or Repair Agents.

Re: Systems Insight Manager not identify blade

Basically, You need to Configure SNMP service on the Client to accept packets from the SIM server. Then run Identify(under Options) task. Also, check if the WEBM is enabled(protocol settings page).

Re: Systems Insight Manager not identify blade

Ah ! I just came across this:

SNMP Config - Security Config - Add "CMS Server Name" READ_CREATE & Accept SNMP packets from these hosts = localhost, "CMS Server"
Trap Config - add " CMS Server Name" trap destination = CMS Name or IP Address
Restart the agents and some have to be removed from CMS and Re-Discovered.

;) Good Luck !

Re: Systems Insight Manager not identify blade

Ok, it could be SNMP, but I think it is better to upgrade the OA firmware to 2.04 and the ilo-s to the latest (i think it is 1.42). Then check if issue stays.
