Using VC VLAN tagging on physical Windows 2008 R2 blade
First, my environment:
- c7000 enclosure
- 10 x BL460c-G6 blades
- 2 x BL460c-G7 blades
- 2 x VC Flex-10 Enet modules, Interconnect Bays 1 & 2
- 2 x VC Fiber modules, Interconnect Bays 3 & 4
- OA firmware; 3.31
- VC firmware: Enet: 3.18; FC: 1.41
- ROM firmware: G6 blades: I24 01/29/2011; G7 blades: I27 01/29/2011
In the VC, I have created 6 Ethernet networks, two of which are trunked to the uplink switches, with VLAN tunnelling enabled (there are about 22 VLANs configured on the trunk). The two trunked networks are meant for production traffic and are running at 8 Gb each. We are running vSphere 4.0 on all of the G6 blades, and the VLAN tagging is working well.
The issue is wit the two G7 blades. We want to install Windows 2008 R2 on these blades, and use the two trunked VC networks for connectivity. We have tried setting the VLAN in the HP Network Config tool, but the NICs keep coming back as unidentified.
I'm not sure where to start looking for the issue. Any suggestions would be welcome. Please let me know if you need any more information.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: Using VC VLAN tagging on physical Windows 2008 R2 blade
I have the same issue with BL460c G7 in Windows 2008R2; the 1st NIC is working but the 2nd one has unidentified network status. Any help?
