C7000 - mixing SAN interconnects horizontally

Right now our C7000 has MDS9124e switch in Bay 3. I would like to make the MDS9124e redundant and I am not sure if I need to purchase the same switch or can I go by with for example a cheaper pass-through  like HP 4Gb FC PT? Is such setup even supported or each interconnects needs to match horizontally? Thank you for any information

If you want redundancy you will need to put the same module in...

Currently you have a switch, you can not make it redundant by putting a pass-thru module...
