28 VLANS per NIC or 28 VLANS per server connection ( profile ) in legacy mode ?

Hi

I can see the VLAN Capacity notes in the "Advanced settings" are in "legacy vlan capacity". It says there are support for 320 vlans per module and 28 vlans per server connection.
But I know I read somewhere else this is 28 vlan per physical nic. Or which is it ? 28 VLAN connections per server or per nic ? This is a big difference. If per nic I suppose you can for example in a ESX environment choose to use one physical nic to one vswitch0 and the other physical nic to the other vswitch1. By this way it should be possible to have a total of 56 VLANS for the server as a total , right ?

The server used in this case is the BL680c G5, so it is not flexnics , 4 separate physical nics. NIC1 & 3 go to VC in Bay1 and NIC2 & 4 goes to VC in Bay2.

VC Firmware 3.51

Am I missing/misunderstanding something here ?

Thanks!

Re: 28 VLANS per NIC or 28 VLANS per server connection ( profile ) in legacy mode ?

<3.30

per domain: 330 vlans

per FlexNIC: 28 vlans

>=3.30

per domain: 1000 vlans

per PHYSICAL NIC: 162 vlans. (that means if you have 4 flexNICs inside one 10G physical port, you can have have any vlan combinations on flexNICS as long as total of 4 flexNICs not exceeding 162 vlans).

In your case, since every NIC(1,2,3 and 4) are physical, you should get 162 vlan support per NIC.
