Directly Attach Storage to VC FC 4gbit module?
Hi Guys,
We are new to FC, and we want to connect our VNX5300 Storage directly to our 4 Blades (G6) by fibre channel without having externel SAN Switches.
Is it possible to "directly attach" the storage throuhg a VC FC 4Gbit module?
If not what interconnect module do we need? The Pass-Thru states, that servers must always connect to a SAN and never directly to a storage device. But EMC Guides says it can be connected directly to FC HBAs.
We are a littlebit confused about that :)
Thanks in advance :)

Re: Directly Attach Storage to VC FC 4gbit module?
The VCFC module requires the port on the other side of the wire to be NPIV enabled. So if Storage you have is switch equipped and has NPIV licensend and enabled you should be able to connect. Otherwise you'll need an NPIV SAN switch in the middle.
