Is it possible to have Cisco 3020 for switching with VC-FC for fibre connectivity?
The VC-FC's have ip addresses but I can't telnet, web interface, or ssh to them.
This is a straight forward setup... switches have been reset which should put them in to passthrough mode, yet I can't see the storage.
When I put the switches in yesterday before resetting to defaults (ip info hard coded), I could see some storage from the QLogic Mezz util.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Thanks and regards
Stefan

Re: HP VC-FC 4Gb without VC-Enet
If I were to configure the VC-FC interconnect when I have a VC-ENET in place, get everything setup and then remove the VC-ENET and take VC-FC to datacentre, would the config remain in place?

Re: HP VC-FC 4Gb without VC-Enet
VC-FC needs the VC-enet module.

Re: HP VC-FC 4Gb without VC-Enet
the Virtual Connect firmware lives on the VC Ethernet modules only. There is no way to configure the VC FC SAN modules if there is no VC Ethernet module installed.
The reason why you saw the storage connected to the VC SAN modules now is because i believe they operate in a kind of pass-thru as long as they are not configured in a SAN configuration in your VC domain.
But you'd never be able to have any VC FC features.

Re: HP VC-FC 4Gb without VC-Enet
Is this still the case? I have a C7000 with the following:
1,2 = 10Gbps pass-thrus
3,4 = 4Gbps FC pass-thrus
5,6 = 8Gbps VC-FCs
We don't want any VC-FC features - we just want pass-through to our Nexus 5548UPs. Using OneView in managed mode, I was able to configure the VC-FC's and my Nexus switchs sees the Blade PWWNs.
Is VC-Enet still required now that we have OneView?
