Issue with connectivity FCOE stability - BL460cG6 NC551m 10Gb PT NEXUS2232 NEXUS 5K
Mitch just wanted to let people know how a customer intraction between one of the new HP FlexFabric Adapaters, NC551m and a Nexus 5000 switch was solved.
******************
This is a FYI on a customer problem with FCOE traffic/connection stability:
Symptom:
“Core problem is N5K interface changes to FLogin state – communication between CNA and Nexus 5k not working well”
Configuration
C7000
BL460 G6
NC551m Slot #1
10Gb Pass through - interconnect #3 and #4
Pass through connected to Nexus 2232 Fabric Extender
2232 connected to Nexus 5000.
DAC cables used.
Resolution:
Nc551m firmware updated to latest level.
HP network teaming configured as "802.3ad". Same as nexus 5k site.
Nexus site changed the timeout number from default to 10000.
(I think this is key. Recommended by Cisco, especially work with pass through module)
**************
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have been using the FlexFabric Adapters, NICs or modules with Cisco Nexus switches.
