Question on internal stacking Virtual Connect FlexFabric and firmware VCM v3.75
Marian was looking to help a customer with a VC FlexFabric stacking question:
*******************
My customer wants to use X5-X8 ports for Ethernet traffic, leaving X4 for internal stacking, instead of using X7-X8 across the backplane.
Is this configuration supported? If so, how I can configure the stacking link? I have the cables plugged, but I must have missed something because I don’t see where to do it.
***********
Help from David:
**************
If you plug a DAC or fiber cable with matching SFPs into Bay 1 Port x4 and Bay 2 Port x4, then VCM will make the stacking links connect automatically.
You can see this in the ‘Stacking Link’ link section or the ‘Interconnect Hardware’ link section under the Port tab.
If it is not making the connection automatically, then verify that the DAC is supported or that the SFPs are the same ‘SR’ ‘LX’(Ethernet+) etc or an HP supported version.
The Hardware section will hint at it being supported.
**************
Any other help or comments?
