VCManager with VC-FC: does load balancing across more then 1 uplink include available bandwidth?
Terri had a SAN question for Virtual Connect - Fibre Channel:
******************
With Virtual Connect Manager and VCFC modules with more then one link to the same SAN switch, VCM does some type of load balancing (correct?). Is the load balancing calculated strictly by the number of devices logging out a given port?
Secondary question: When a blade server logs into the SAN switch through the VCFC module, the node address of that VCFC module + uplink port also logs in. Is this true for any of the IBM Blade solutions? I have one customer saying the c7000 is not really an enclosure/blade because the VCFC logs into the SAN switch with its own address. Customer expected to see only blade server addresses logging into a given SAN switch port.
****************
Info from Chris:
***************
VC FC does initiator login distribution across all assigned FC uplink ports per SAN Fabric. Login Redistribution is only performed manually by an administrator. VC FC uplink ports will log into the upstream fabric, as they should, which is performed via NPIV and is how NPIV works.

Any other comments or suggestions?
