Virtual Connect Manager still uses Flash
Very curious if anyone can shed some light on the Virtual Connect Manager (VCM) which we are using to manage our virtual connects. Adobe Flash will be disabled by the end of 2020 and I have not been able to find any information on what HPE will be doing about the Flash requirement for VCM.
I would assume that they are working on a HTML version of VCM, or will it be completely retired....?
Thanks for any info on this.

Re: Virtual Connect Manager still uses Flash
Hi
As per latest HPE Virtual Connect for c-Class BladeSystem User Guide Version 4.80 , VCM still requires Adobe Flash Player 11.1 or higher before you can log in.
The recommended Adobe Flash Player web browser plug-in can be downloaded and installed from the Adobe website, or downloaded as a standalone executable from the Adobe website. For the latest Adobe Flash Player Security Bulletin Updates, see the Adobe website.
https://helpx.adobe.com/security.html#flashplayer
For more information please refer HPE Virtual Connect for c-Class Blade System User Guide Version 4.80. (page Number 12 - 13)

Re: Virtual Connect Manager still uses Flash
Hi AmRa,
Thanks for the reply, but we too are concerned by this. Is there a schedule for when a new version will be released that does not depend on Flash?
My undertsanding is that at midnight on 31st December all major web-browsers will cease to load the flash plugin. Thus the ability to manage the device will cease suddenly.
Thanks,
Claude Brown.

Re: Virtual Connect Manager still uses Flash
Virtual Connect firmware version 4.85 is the answer.
Supports 3rd generation Virtual Connect onwards, so please read the release notes as not all Virtual Conect modules can support this firmware version. Some of the older VC modules are no longer supported since VC firmware version 4.80 so 4.85 will not work with them either.

Re: Virtual Connect Manager still uses Flash
Anyone have a link to the 4.85 release notes? I can't find them...
Edit: Finally found them! https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=sd00002020en_us

Re: Virtual Connect Manager still uses Flash
Hi,
Has anyone successfully completed this upgrade? I'm trying to upgrade a "HP VC FlexFabric 10Gb/24-Port Module" - which apepars in the supported list in the release-notes.
However, I'm receiving an error when I issue this command:
vcsu -a update -i 172.17.1.21 -u Administrator -p xxxxxxx -l C:\vcfwall485.bin -vcu Administrator -vcp xxxxx
The errors are:
- ERROR: One or more parameters are not valid
- Error in getting the FirmwareIncompatible Status
Below is the text from the log-file, but I cannot find anything that reveals my error. Any assistance appreciated.
Thanks, Claude.

Re: Virtual Connect Manager still uses Flash
Your VCUTIL is 1.7.1, but must be 1.15.0.
Your version is much too old.

Re: Virtual Connect Manager still uses Flash
Thank you Torsten! I only just installed it and I kept reading "7" as "17" and thought I was ok. Such a silly thing - thank you so much for you assistance.
