Virtual Connect Server profile moving from Half-Height blade to Full-Height Blade
Hari had a Virtual Connect server profile movement question:
**************************
As per my understanding the VC server profile is assigned to the bays of the enclosures. So one of my customer has asked whether I can assign a server profile of half height Blade to a full height Blade server. The customer is OK in terms of only getting the same or no network connection in HH blade available on FH blade .
Theoretical speaking this should work, as I have not tested this wanted to check with experts.

Vincent replied:

Yes, it’ll work. VC will try to map the connections in the profile to the actual hardware. If there’s no matching hardware (like a FC HBA with connections on the source but not on the target, or 8 Ethernet connections on the source with a Flex-10 LOM but only 4x 1Gb NICs on the target, etc.), some connections might be left unmapped and therefore not working.

Have you had experience with this? If so, did it work as advertised?
