where does the vlan tag come from

Hi all,

I have a c7000 blade enclosure with solaris 11 installed.

No VLANs are configured in solaris, nor in the flex 10.

However, when i try to PXE boot a PC from that server

it fails. The snoop messages reads:

VLAN#1000: OLD-BROADCAST -> BROADCAST    DHCP/BOOTP DHCPDISCOVER

The same problem when I try to PXE boot another blade in the same enclosure.

Where is this VLAN 1000 coming from? Is there a way of tracing packets coming in and

going out of the flex 10?

tnx for all help

Check the version of packages SUNWemlxs & SUNWemlxu. They should be the same version.

Re: where does the vlan tag come from

Also keep in mind that VC uses the term "Network" as a synonym for VLAN and under the covers it is actually using VLAN ID #s.

So its entirely possible the internal VLAN ID is being exposed in the snoop message.
