Hi,
I have an JG539A switch and all the copper ports work, I tried to connect an FTP port (25) to another switch JE009 but it doesn't work.
the led 25 does not blink
the patch cord works because i tried it on another switch
What can I check?
Thanks

SolutionHi @grenzo !
That port is combo port. You need to switch it from copper to optic. Goto Device, Port Management, Setup, set Combo drop-down menu to Optic.
Hope this helps!

Re: SFP port of JG539A does not work....
Yes, I got the point. Those ports have two physical connectors - one copper and one optic. But only one connector can be used at a time. That is why they are called 'combo' or 'dual-personality' - you can use either optic or copper, but not both at the same time. However, there is no autosensing mechanism that can determine what type of cable is connected and automatically adjust 'personality' of the port to that type of interface - copper or optic. That is why you need to decide what type of cable you will use in port 25 and choose the repsective type in the configuration.
