Re: Installa module LSPM2SP2P
Hi @grenzo !
This module has only port LEDs, so in order to verify if the module works (without any transceiver/cable) I suggest you checking its status by:
display device verbose
in the output you should see something like this:
SubCard : 1
Status : Normal
Name : JD368B
PCB Ver : REV.A
CPLD Ver : NULL
PortNum : 2
also the "display version" command should report this module in a 'subslot' seciton, like here:
===============display version===============

Re: Installa module LSPM2SP2P
It is not officially compatible, that's why you get that alarm message. Comware switches and routers officially support only HPE-branded transceivers. For the rest you will be getting those alarms every time you plug them and then periodic alarms while use them.
However, if the transceiver works and you still insist on using it despite all the risks, you can disable that alarm by:
system-view
transceiver phony-alarm-disable
However, I am not 100% sure if 5120 model has this command, so just try to figure out.

how can I do ?

Re: Installa module LSPM2SP2P
As I stated in my previous message - "I am not 100% sure if 5120 model has this command, so just try to figure out." If your switch is running the latest version and the command is not there, it means that it was never implemented in this model. It is quite old, no surprise. But in general this is the command in Comware to disable that alarm. However, I want you to understand one fact - this command just disables the alarm. Nothing else. If your transceiver works on 5120, it will continue to work with or without this command. The command does not enable incompatible transceivers nor makes them compatible. It just eliminates the inconvenience of having your log spammed by that alarm, just that. And of course as HPE employee I need to recommend you to use only compatible transceivers - at the end of the day it will cost you less to run reliable and predictable hardware.

Re: Installa module LSPM2SP2P
10Mbps or 10Gbps? I am sure you mean 10Gbps... I decided to highlight this, because normally SFP+ transceivers do not support 10Mbps speed.
The term "works well" is not very clearly defined, but taking into account we speak about transceivers and optical links, I know only one command that can show you a quality of the received signal - "display transceiver diagnosis interface <interface_number>" However, your transceiver must support DOM in order to provide such information to our switch. And since its not officially compatible, even if it's got DOM, no guarantee the switch will be able to process it.
If you would use a compatible transceiver, the output would look like this:
<Sysname> display transceiver diagnosis interface gigabitethernet 1/0/25
GigabitEthernet1/0/25 transceiver diagnostic information:
Current diagnostic parameters:
Temp(°C) Voltage(V) Bias(mA) RX power(dBm) TX power(dBm)
36 3.31 6.13 -35.64 -5.19
And then it is up to you to use these values in order to conclude if the link "works well" or it doesn't.

SolutionNo, everything seems fine, you don't see diagnostic info because the switch can't read it from the transceiver. It happens when you use parts outside official compatibility list.
I couldn't say it better than the switch itself: "Info: This is not a supported transceiver for this platform. HPE does not guarantee the normal operation or maintenance of unsupported transceivers. Please review the platform datasheet on the HPE web site or contact your HPE sales rep for a list of supported transceivers."

Yes, I have checkes QuickSpecs, latest release notes and can confirm these are the only compatible SFP+ 10G multimode transceivers for this swich.

Re: Installa module LSPM2SP2P
The difference is quite obvious - one supports 10GBase-SR 802.3ae standard, another supports 10GBASE-LRM 802.3aq standard. You can use both transceivers, but not on the same fiber, because 10GBase-SR won't hear signal from 10GBASE-LRM as they use different wavelength. Not only that is the difference, but this one is enough to explain their incompatibility.

Re: Installa module LSPM2SP2P
Hi,
I bought some original HP JD093B transeivers and did the test:
Temp(°C) Voltage(V) Bias(mA) RX power(dBm) TX power(dBm)
32 3.29 48.93 -8.19 -2.01
how do they look like?
What do those values mean?
Thanks

but unfortunately I'm not an expert and I don't know how to evaluate
These values I got tell me the connection is 10Gbps?

Re: Installa module LSPM2SP2P
These values concern only quality of signal. In order to confirm the link is 10Gbps, check it with "display interface <interface_name>" look for "speed mode" line, it should be "10Gbps-speed mode, full-duplex mode"

Ok, thanks
But a strange thing happens to me:
if I use the compatible transceiver JD092B the port is up
if I use the original HP transceiver JD093B the port is down
How is it possible ?

Re: Installa module LSPM2SP2P
I am sure I have already stated that both are quite different:
The difference is quite obvious - one supports 10GBase-SR 802.3ae standard, another supports 10GBASE-LRM 802.3aq standard. You can use both transceivers, but not on the same fiber, because 10GBase-SR won't hear signal from 10GBASE-LRM as they use different wavelength. Not only that is the difference, but this one is enough to explain their incompatibility.
The port will be down if transceiver on another end of the cable is not compatible with JD093B. That one must be LRM as well.
