3Com 7760 Access Point configuration
I have purchased eight 3Com 7760 access points that seem to have been wiped of their firmware.
They do not show up in the DHCP managerwhen they are attached to my network. However, by running Network Supvervisor and looking at the MAC addresses I can determine what IP addresses they have been assigned. When try to get to the login page with internet explorer and that IP, I get that the page cannot be displayed.
I have taken the units off of the network and try getting to the login by using the default IP of 169.254.2.2 and again I get that the page cannot be displayed.
I have used HyperTerminal and the IPs. Again it cannot connect.
I have also used HyperTerminal with a serial connection. it comes up to a prompt of "ap_mon:". I cannot get to a place where I can login into the unit and do anything that would make it usable.
HyperTerminal keeps giving the message
"64.738 agent: AP Reset: SW discovery timeout
64.686: ethernet: ethernet_shutdown: shutdown eth0"
What needs to be done to make these units usable??
P.S. This thread has been moved from Legacy to Comware Wireless / Unified Series. -HP Forum Moderator
