D2700 shelf with 1.8TB drives?

Is it possible to use 1.8TB SAS drives in a D2700 shelf?

The most recent version of the Quickspecs (linked below) doesn't show an option for 1.8TB SAS drives (page 20):

https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c04111697&doctype=quickspecs&doclang=EN_US&searchquery=&cc=za&lc=en

But, this document appears to indicate that the J9F48A will work with the D2700:

https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03819847#N10560

Anyone have any experience with this?

@bogeygolfer

Hello,

1.8TB SAS drive is unsupported in D2700 enclosure.

The maximum capacity supported SAS drive is 1.2 TB .

HP MSA 1.2TB 6G SAS 10K SFF(2.5-inch) Dual Port Ent 3yr Warranty Hard Drive E7W47A

730704-001 1.2TB hard drive SAS - 6Gb/s transfer rate, 10,000 RPM, 2.5-inch small form factor (SFF),hot-plug - For use with MSA products

if you are ordering a D2700 as an expansion behind an existing P2000/MSA
2040 then order the  drives listed on page 20 https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c04111697&doctype=quickspecs&doclang=EN_US&searchquery=&cc=za&lc=en

The link which you was checking was for drives supported on MSA 2040 enclosure.

Yes 1.8TB SAS drive is supported on MSA 2040 enclosure but not on D2700 enclosure.

Hope this helps!.

Thanks
