Hi,

If you compare the QuickSpecs for the two models, you'll see that EVA4000 has a Sustained I/O and MB Throughput of "Up to 141K IOPS and up to 335 MB/s throughput per Controller Pair" whilst the EVA4100 has a figure of "Greater than 154,000 and over 1380 MB/s".

I have correctly understood that "Sustained I/O and MB Throughput of" is an indicator responds throughput disk array with a server?

Yes, but the values quoted are useless marketing numbers. If you took that values serious, you could expect more than 2800 IOPS from a single disk drive.

The values are obtained by running special benchmark software to test/demonstrate how powerful the CPU and cache are. A real customer runs real applications which very often cannot even make use of the full power of a storage array.

So don't take these values too serious - I honestly doubt that you well ever see them in real life.

Yes. It's an indicator of how much data the controllers should be able to handle.
