We are planning to install a new DG consisting of 8x 500GB FATA drives (370790-B22) with a customer running an EVA 3000 2C1D, with an additional M5314B drive enclosure (370790-B22)
Our biggest concern is compatibility, HP could not help us with a clear explanation...
Here are our questions:
1. Is this setup supported?
2. Wich is the ACS version recommended?
3. Any additional suggestions?
Thanks in advance, your help will be vastly appreciated,
SE

As mentioned therein,
"The use of the 400 and 500 GB FATA disk drive is supported only with the following minimum array firmware versions:
├в ┬в Enterprise Virtual Array version level VCS v3.028
├в ┬в Enterprise Virtual Array version level VCS v4.001
├в ┬в Enterprise Virtual Array version level XCS v5.030 "

Re: EVA3000, oldie... FATA 500GB support?
In addition to the VCS version required, then you may well need to adjust where the disks are located. Were you looking at putting all of the 8 new disks in the new enclosure ?
Best practice is to split disks in a group over shelves for redundancy, although with only 2 enclosures you're not going to get much benefit.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Rob

Re: EVA3000, oldie... FATA 500GB support?
So, in an EVA3K you would need at least VCS v3.028. The most recent version is VCS 3.110
