EVA4000 2Gb to 4Gb

One question about an old EVA4000 rnning 5.030 firmware.

A plan to upgrade to 6.110 (thru 5.110), the question is :

Are the connections going to 4 Gb/s (with 4 Gb/S sfp in front of) automatically, or is there an hardware sfp inside EVA which prevent to upgrade to 4 Gb/s

Thank you

Jean-Pierre

Re: EVA4000 2Gb to 4Gb

Thank you for the reply,

but my question is purely hardware.

In fact, i want to know if the first EVA4000 shipped in 2005 who have 2 Gb/s host connections are working in 4 Gb/s after XCS upgrade (with 4 Gb/s sfp on switches, CV 6.02 or 7), and if not, is there a kit to upgrade it.

Re: EVA4000 2Gb to 4Gb

The very first EVA4000 systems were 2Gb hardware that cannot run at 4Gb.
You can identify the controller by type:

HSV200 EVA4000/6000 2Gb
HSV200-A EVA4000/6000 4Gb
HSV200-B EVA4100/6000 4Gb

HSV210 EVA8000 2Gb
HSV210-A EVA8000 4Gb
HSV210-B EVA8100 4Gb

Also see the EVA user guide on
