EVA8000 SAN connection

Hello

Need help on EVA8000 SAN connection. We've purchase an EVA8000, and two 4/16 SAN switches. We already have two existing 4/16 SAN switches in production. I'll like to connect 4 ports from EVA (2 from each controllers) to the new SAN switches, and the other 4 ports to the existing SAN switches. I do not want to ISL the new switches with the production switches. Is this a supported configuration, even though Command View server is only connected to one switch?

Thanks

Regards
Teresa

Re: EVA8000 SAN connection

Teresa,

This is a supported environment.
Connect your servers with 2 fiber cards to two different switches for redundancy reasons.

Re: EVA8000 SAN connection

Yes, this is fully supported!

I know it is not very well documented.
One example of a multi fabric SAN can be found in the CA EVA planning guide (see attachment)

For redundancy reasons I woul attach the CV server to two fabrics and both controllers!

Cheers
